Light barriers

These light barriers are composed of a transmitter an a recipient. The transmitter diode emits light flashes in the infra-red range (invisible at/from approximately 900nm). The recipient operates selectively and can therefore activate the output only if the infra-red light reflected by the transmitter with the corresponding impulse frequency is identified accordingly.

Each recipient along with the amplifier form a integral system. Therefore, disturbances frequently noted in the connecting line when the amplifier is attached as a separate unit, are excluded.

If the light barrier is to be used at an ambient temperature of more than +60°C to a maximum of  +400°C we recommend our light barrier series IRL...GF or ILX...GF (AX...GF) complete with light guide connection (Version I).

Important:

In ex-zones, using light barriers ILD ("flame-proof"/impact-resitant enclosure) or the AX series ("inherently safe") is a basic requirement.
