Proximity switches with and without Ex approval

Light sensors or optoelectronic sensors belong to the family of optical sensors and enable contactless detection of objects using emitted light – usually infrared or visible red light. They reliably and quickly detect the presence or position of an object without touching it mechanically.

They are indispensable, especially in industrial applications: whether for controlling conveyor systems, position detection in machines, or level measurement, optical sensors deliver precise results even in harsh environments. They are available in various designs, e.g., with analog output or for use in potentially explosive areas (Ex zones).

Our PSD, PSN, IRD, IRN, IDD, IDN, FAD, and FAN product families are certified for direct use in Ex zones 1, 2, 21, and 22 and may even be used in zones 0 and 20.

They are available in various designs such as red light, infrared, or laser and can be optionally equipped with additional optics, fiber optic adaptation, analog and digital outputs, as well as potentiometers and teach-in.
